Sean McVity directs Garnet’s commercial loan sale advisory services, and manages Garnet’s international operations, including Garnet’s San Juan-based Las Américas Division. Sean started his career in the capital markets at First Boston in 1986. In 1990, he moved to Citicorp as the Director of Research on Citibank’s Corporate Loan Trading Desk. In 1991, he was a founding member of Meenan, McDevitt & Company (“MMC”), one of the original loan-sale advisory firms; at MMC, Sean was a Managing Director and head of the firm’s Structuring and Sales Group. After MMC’s acquisition by Société Générale in 1998, he became head of SG’s Portfolio Sales Group. As a founding member of the Keefe, Bruyette & Woods loan sales group (2002-04), Sean managed numerous loan sales and led the development of a successful practice providing investment banking services to the debt-purchasing industry. A leading figure in the loan sales market, Sean has chaired numerous industry conferences, and has been published in the <i>Journal of Lending and Credit Risk Management</i>, <i>Collections & Credit Risk</i>, the <i>Institutional Investor Bank Letter</i> and other publications.
